India's Inequality

I was given a book review by The Progressive about two books on the ascent of India's wealth in which a great part of society is left behind (just google "India slum" to see it! geez!). The AD and I settled on the idea of a blooming lotus flower thrusting the affluent into the future while the vast majority of the populace is stranded in the muck far below.

The second illo is also about the same issue. I focused on a line in the article, "...unseen by the privileged."

Catch y'all later!

The Food Stamp Journalist

Here's a new piece for The Progressive about an award-winning journalist whose income is dwindling due to the weakened editorial field. As a result he decides to go on food stamps to help support himself.  Due to writing about his new lifestyle he has received many scathing criticisms by people who are telling him to simply, "quit!" or that "food stamps aren't for people like you." Interesting story. Enjoy!

Village Voice with Michael Musto

I got to do another piece for a Michael Musto article in the Village Voice. It's essentially about the lowering of the intellect bar due to the overuse of twitter, facebook, and the like. It was fun to work on and it's always a pleasure to work with AD Jesus Diaz. Enjoy!
