Year of the Century
Here's the new album cover for the Brooklyn based band Senors of Marseille. I was told "We want Mayan calendars and day of the dead type stuff. It's the end of the world, but it's a party." How could you say no to a project like that?

Neighbors movie animation sample
Here's a video from the movie Neighbors that explains the animation process that I was involved in. If you're impatient you can skip to the 4 min mark to watch the final product. Enjoy!

Bay Area Shopping
Here's a map (sort of) of the San Francisco Bay Area for Lolo Cards. The emphasis was mostly on Marin County and the East Bay since that's where Lolo is initially being launched as gift cards for locally/independently owned businesses. Check out their site https://givelolo.com/

Martin Heidegger
Hey everybody, here's a new one of Martin Heidegger, the German existentialist, for the magazine Hohe Luft. Thanks AD's Maja and Gabriele for this fun job!

Hey all, the movie, Neighbors, that I was working on earlier in the year is almost done but the film makers need a little more loot to finish it up. They started a kickstarter campaign, and if you pledge you can get drawings/prints done by me! Check it out!

Blown Cover
With some free time last month I decided to enter some ideas in to Francoise Mouly's Blown Cover competition with the theme of Global Warming. I did not win but I did get a pretty good mention here:

Sit-Down Strikers
In 1937 the Supreme Court ruled that workers participating in sit-down strikes do not have the guarantee to to be reinstated to their former jobs by their employers even if the employer's illegal action caused the strike. Enjoy!

Making Friends
Here's a new series I've begun entitled "Making Friends." I thought it would be fun to document some recent interactions with strangers in NYC. I have two more sketched out, but hopefully I'll continue making more when I have free time. And thanks to Erin for her unbeknownst lending of her likeness for the second illustration. Enjoy!

Work from an old killed job
A little while ago I was commissioned to make the art for an upcoming sports blog and it's promotion. Work commenced but there was an issue over likeness permission, and unfortunately it was killed. I have had these nearly finished portraits and ornate frames just laying around and decided to clean 'em up, throw some color on them, and share them with the world. They are of in order: Malcolm Gladwell, Dave Eggers, Chuck Klosterman, and Bill Simmons. Enjoy!

India's Inequality
I was given a book review by The Progressive about two books on the ascent of India's wealth in which a great part of society is left behind (just google "India slum" to see it! geez!). The AD and I settled on the idea of a blooming lotus flower thrusting the affluent into the future while the vast majority of the populace is stranded in the muck far below.
The second illo is also about the same issue. I focused on a line in the article, "...unseen by the privileged."
Catch y'all later!

The Food Stamp Journalist
Here's a new piece for The Progressive about an award-winning journalist whose income is dwindling due to the weakened editorial field. As a result he decides to go on food stamps to help support himself. Due to writing about his new lifestyle he has received many scathing criticisms by people who are telling him to simply, "quit!" or that "food stamps aren't for people like you." Interesting story. Enjoy!

Village Voice with Michael Musto
I got to do another piece for a Michael Musto article in the Village Voice. It's essentially about the lowering of the intellect bar due to the overuse of twitter, facebook, and the like. It was fun to work on and it's always a pleasure to work with AD Jesus Diaz. Enjoy!
